Kensington Park Plaza is a mixed-use (live/work and retail/office) building located on the northeast corner of Adams Avenue and Marlborough Drive. The project fronts a community park and library in the heart of Kensington, a historic community of San Diego. The project provides 6,500 square feet of useable retail, restaurant and office space on the ground floor with parking for 25 cars. The second floor has 11 live/work lofts.

The project design follows new-urbanism principles by emphasizing the pedestrian experience within an existing neighborhood context. Storefronts are placed directly on the sidewalk, while parking is provided in the rear, accessible by driveway and alley. Generous windows provide natural light and views to outside. Trellises, balconies and a ground-level courtyard create an old-world atmosphere with a neighborhood scale. Use of local architectural details such as stacked flagstone columns, Spanish tile roofs and arches create a contextual balance with the existing neighborhood.
